Marina Tjetland

Marina Tjetland is a comic artist, author, and creative workshop facilitator based in Sandnes, working with visual storytelling as a tool for emotional clarity, collaboration, and innovation. Her first comic book - about her childbirth experience - was published last year, and she is currently working on her second graphic novel about the beginning of her motherhood journey.

Marina designs and leads visual storytelling workshops for students, companies, and public institutions, helping teams express complex ideas through simple drawings and metaphors. Her comics have been published in newspapers and presented in talks and events focused on mental health, inclusion, and creative thinking. With a background in corporate law and a shift into visual facilitation, she bridges structure and storytelling - making creativity practical, accessible, and human-centred.

Processes and tools can guide us - but it’s the way we see, feel, and communicate that truly brings ideas to life. In this talk, comic artist and creative facilitator Marina Tjetland explores how visual storytelling helps teams navigate complexity, express emotions, and connect beyond words. Through stories from her workshops and creative journey, Marina shows how even simple sketches can uncover hidden perspectives, soften difficult conversations, and bridge logic with empathy. You’ll discover how drawing - not as art, but as thinking - helps teams collaborate more effectively, build trust, and see problems (and each other) more clearly. No artistic skills required - just curiosity and a willingness to see differently. After the talk, you can join a short comic-drawing exercise in the networking area if you want to experiment and try the method yourself.
